Sugar-free Chocolate Chips Recipe

Craving a healthier alternative to chocolate chips that still delivers on sweetness and texture? These two-ingredient date and cocoa nibs are easy to make, naturally sweet, and perfect for cookies, energy bites, or snacking straight from the bowl.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 cups dates, any variety

  • 2 tbsp Fair Trade cocoa powder (unsweetened)

Equipment:

Directions:

  1. Remove pits from dates

  2. Cut dates in half or quarters - optional and depends on your food processor

  3. Put dates and cocoa powder in food processor and pulse until dates form cocoa-coated chips

Note - do not over process or blend. Hitting pulse 5-10 times should create little chips the size of a normal chocolate chip.Can be used as chocolate chips in any cookie recipe and can also be used as the chocolate filling for sandwich style cookies. Both examples picture.
